There's something about Easter morning that gives me more anticipation than Christmas morning. Perhaps it's the fact that we're celebrating God's incredible timeline - on Good Friday, we mourn the death of Christ, a death He died for me - an ugly, stinking, sinner. Three days later, we're rejoicing in the fact that He's ALIVE! Makes my heart pitter patter just thinking about it.
The Conkling trio enjoyed a quiet Sunday morning at home, preparing our hearts and bodies for church service. By the time Mackie was actually dressed and ready to go, she wasn't the most cooperative little miss to snap some pics.
Case in point: Pic with mommy. It's the best we could do.
However with daddy, we were all smiles. Go figure.
The Easter bunny hopped on over before Mackie woke up. He filled her basket with plenty of fun, spring-time goodies including bubbles, coloring book and crayons, and a cute fly-swatter (complete with a gerber daisy), shovel, and hoe....you know, the proper gardening tools for a family that doesn't garden.
All ready to swat flies and dig holes in her Sunday best!
After church, we went to my parents house for a nice, quiet lunch with them, my brother, and my grandparents. It was a relaxing way to end the day - complete with Cubs and Royals baseball.
We hope you all had a blessed Easter as you rejoiced in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. He is risen...He is risen, indeed....Hallelujah!
