Brax-man's Six Month Stats

Braxton Cade went in for his well-baby check-up today. It was such a relief NOT to sit on the sickie side (we've done that the last three times in three weeks...sigh) and actually NOT have to wait a gazillion minutes. Yay for snatching one of the earliest appointments of the day!

Here are the stats for little (big) man:
Height: 27 3/8 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 20 pounds, 11 ounces (85th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 3/4 inches (80th percentile?? I think....a bit distracted by that one)

Dr. Miller says Brax is growing great and following his curve nicely. He also noted how great he does sitting up by himself for such a long period of time. We've had others tell us, and I have to say, I didn't really notice it and think about it until thinking back and realizing that Mackie wasn't near that great on the motor skills as her brother at this age.

I just had to go back and look at Mackie's stats at 6-months. She was 27 3/4 inches (99th percentile) and 17 pounds, 9 ounces (80th percentile). About 1/3 inch taller and more than 3 pounds lighter than her brother!

Brax's chest is clear (Hallelujah - We don't have to live around breathing treatments!), and his ears aren't bulging, but there is plenty of fluid in them. We go back in a few weeks to check out the ears and see if there is another infection (let's hope not!). Mackie had some ear troubles between 10-20 months, when she was at her teething prime, but thankfully she grew out of it and didn't need tubes. Maybe little brother is following in his big sis's footsteps?

Brax-man has also been trying more solids these last few weeks, as he has expanded his menu of sweet potatoes, bananas, and cereal to now include squash, prunes, and carrots. We're trying applesauce this weekend and will start doing green veggies soon after - green beans and peas.

Thank you, Lord, for our healthy baby boy!

ps: Doesn't this pic just melt.your.heart?! Our fave photographer, Jen, once again did some amazing work this week at B's 6-month pics. Love, love, love this pic!

Oh, Amy I love Brax's picture! Glad to hear he is on the mend. The sickness doesn't seem to have slowed his growing :)
