Braxton Cade went in this morning for his one-year well-baby check-up. (let's see how many times I can hyphenate words in a row!)
Two hours later, we walked out with four shots (three vaccinations plus our final flu shot of the season), a blood draw (to check iron levels), and a prescription for fluid that was coming out of the ears (thank goodness for tubes, as it would have resulted in another ear infection if he didn't have them!). Each time I walk out of the Clinic I can't help but be so thankful for our amazing doc and nurses - not to mention the other nurses and peds who we chat with while we're in there (we know many of them!).
So here are little man's stats for one year:
Length: 31 1/4" (85th percentile)
Weight: (with cast on) 24 lbs (60th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18 1/2" (65th percentile)
We've noticed in recent weeks that Brax has really started to stretch out and lose more and more baby chunk (so sad - he was my little chunkster!). His height percentage is the highest its ever been, meaning: the kid is stretching out! I'll be interested to see how much he weighs without the leg cast on. I say about two pounds lighter? (I'm a terrible judge at measurements and weights.)
Little man, we love you so much and the boy that you're turning into. I couldn't help but chuckle when Brax was showing Dr. Miller his tricks with an ornery grin. Dr. Miller's response? Looks like we have our hands full. (he's an expert with four boys himself!)
Our Tour de Hutchinson Clinic (hopefully) takes its last stop next week when the leg cast comes off. After that, we're hoping to stay away from that place during the icky sick season. Stay tuned!
