Prayer for Our Preschooler
Tomorrow you start a new chapter in your life - SCHOOL! And while it's "just" preschool and you're "only" gone two mornings a week, it's the start of a lifelong journey of learning and formal education.
It's exciting and fun. You have picked out your princess backpack. Your back-to-school outfit is laid neatly across your rocking chair, complete with sparkly silver slip-on shoes. Mommy even has a special breakfast in store for you tomorrow, as well as the camera ready and the cute preschool sign made (thank you, Pinterest, for your fab ideas!).
But as you walk through those preschool doors, we pray that your light shines brightly for Jesus, and that you:
- Use your spunk to work hard for God's glory
Colossians 3:17: "Whatever you do in word or deed, do it ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."
- Obey your teacher and authority figures
Ephesians 6:1: "Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." While your teachers aren't your mommy and daddy, you are to show them the proper respect as they are in charge since we aren't there. As we say in the Conkling house, "Obey them the first time, with a kind and loving heart."
- Show compassion through kindness and love to your classmates
Romans 12:10: "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another."
Romans 12:9: "Let your love be genuine."
Luke 6:31: "Do to others as you would have them do to you."
- When you do something wrong and sin against a friend/classmate/teacher, ask for forgiveness. And forgive others when they do something wrong to you.
Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you."
We love you, Mackenzie Claire, and are so excited for your new adventures in learning. May your light shine brightly for Jesus. Have a great time!
