Mackie's movin' on up to a new class at preschool.
Today she graduated from the 3-4 class and said good-bye to her classmates and teachers until the fall. Come September, she'll be in the 4-5 class and go three mornings a week at Christ's Care.
To say good-bye, the fabulous staff at Christ's Care Preschool (we love Miss Melissa and Miss Kristene) had a graduation ceremony of sorts this morning, complete with songs, prayer, Bible verses, the Pledge of Allegiance, and of course, caps/gowns and diplomas. I will admit that I started tearing up a bit when they played the graduation music and my big girl walked in wearing her cap and "gown" along with her classmates.
I also am going to shed a few tears come this fall when her best buddy from birth, Wyatt, moves into the big kindergarten world. We're so excited for you, Wyatt! You'll have to tell Mackie all about it. :)

At the start of this school year, we prayed that Mackie let her light shine for Jesus. That she used her spunk for God's glory. That she was kind, compassionate, and made new friends. That she respected new authority figures and honored them as teachers.
I think the pictures speak for themselves, but I thank God today for the many answered prayers this year at preschool. Not only did Mackie learn educational lessons, but she did learn more about being a friend, showing compassion, obeying authority figures other than her "usuals" in life, and she let that little light shine for Jesus. (some days not as bright as others, but we are all a work in progress, aren't we?!) Last week, while chatting with Miss Melissa about the coming school year, she mentioned that she was excited to have Mackie come back because "she brings about a fun spirit in the classroom." This mama's heart smiled a bit - and then wondered if it was a positive spirit or an ornery one - or a combo of both?! ;)
Happy Preschool Graduation Day, Mackenzie Claire and the rest of the preschool grads! I'm excited to spend the summer with you - and make lots of play dates with your preschool friends!
Receiving her diploma. She told us she wanted to be a swimmer when she grew up!
