Mama On The Run: A Challenge from My Favorite Running Coach

A few years ago - I honestly don't know how - I stumbled across Jenny Hadfield's Holiday Challenge. The Challenge was simple: stay active and avoid weight gain during the hectic and delicious holiday season by challenging yourself with manageable goals each week. The group posted their weekly mileage/exercise goals each week to a Facebook page. We encouraged, we inspired, we held each other accountable.

This past year, the group decided to keep the friendships and accountability going well beyond Jan. 1. Our beloved coach, Coach Jenny (or CJ for short), kept the Facebook page and group open for the entire year. It's been a fun year of getting to know several fellow running and fitness enthusiasts from across the country (shoot - from around the world!), not to mention share our triumphs - big and small - as well as voice our hurts, our frustrations, our lives and hearts with fellow runners, bikers, and fitness folks.

As you know, I love CJ. I first read her work in Runner's World as a newbie runner several years ago and then found her training plans. I love her realistic approach to life and running, and have followed several of them ranging from 10Ks to half marathons to full marathons these last two years.

I had the pleasure of meeting her in May 2013 when I went to run the Cleveland Marathon. You'd have thought I met a celebrity - I did! - as I was so giddy to meet her in person.

So, why does all of this matter to you?!

Because now YOU can be a part of this rockin' group and sign up for the new and improved CJ Holiday Challenge! Beat the Holiday 5 this year and register to be a part of this fun group!

Visit https://www.jennyhadfield.com/holiday-challenge/ for details on how to get involved and avoid the holiday weight gain. There are two different levels this year (including a virtual race on one of the levels!), as well as some pretty awesome give-aways and prizes. The most important value, though, is the camaraderie you'll experience as a part of our group. It's been an awesome ride with several folks on the Facebook page this past year, and I can't wait to keep on journeying alongside with them in the weeks and months to come.

If you're like me, you love to eat - especially during the holiday season. Enjoy your treats (in moderation) and avoid the guilt by moving your body this holiday season, too! We all have the time...we just have to get creative in making the time. Register for the CJ Holiday Challenge today!
