One of the biggest perks of staying at the Sheraton Crown Center - besides walking everywhere! - was the kickin' fitness room. This was our scene each morning. Kidlets usually at their snack breakfast while watching a clip show and mommy/daddy exercised. It was quiet enough in there that the kidlets even had their fair share of elliptical and bike time!
As I mentioned earlier, this vacation was (mostly) all about the kidlets. Mackie and Brax were beyond excited to visit Legoland. It was our first stop of the day and did not disappoint! If you have children between the ages of 2 1/2-10 (or even older!), I highly suggest you check out Legoland in Crown Center. We'll be back...I'm sure!
Both kidlets enjoyed the massive play area and we could have spent hours watching them jump, crawl, and dive through foam legos. Mackie loved building at the Lego and Friends kitchen area, while Brax and daddy constructed Lego cars and then raced them. We all enjoyed the two rides that were featured and ooing and ahhing over the Lego creations set up throughout the venue.
And if the day couldn't have gotten better - did I mention we made a pit stop at Trader Joe's later that afternoon for mama?! - we all ventured out to dinner at Fritz's. Again, this was an "all-I-can-talk-about-until-I-get-there" subject of conversation in the weeks leading up to vacay. This cute train restaurant was loud, filled with choo-choo's, and good ole greasy diner food. You walk in and the conductors greet the kidlets with their own hats. You then place your order via telephone at your table and minutes later - wahla! An actual train (located on "tracks" above your table) comes to deliver your boxcar filled with food.
Very awesome - very memorable - and the food was pretty tasty (and unhealthy), too.
