Easter, Part I: Conkling Easter

We had a wonderful two weekends celebrating Easter with both sides of the family. The weekend before Easter, we went out to Jack's parents' house and enjoyed time with the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Here are some highlights!

My cool dudes before the Easter egg hunting festivities. Aunt Rashelle was a genius and bought the kiddos cute shades for their Easter baskets!

Mackie and cousin Luke getting ready to hunt eggs. Mackie means business!

Daddy helping out little man retrieve his eggs. I love his sweet smile here!

I found one, mommy!

Mackie with her loot. Can you tell she couldn't wait to open up the eggs? We gave her one egg and then had to hurriedly hide the goods inside so she didn't eat all of the jelly beans!

Perhaps the BEST part of the days leading up to Easter was the constant reminder to Mackie (and ourselves) of why we celebrate the holiday. It was too precious hearing her tell me over and over again that the reason we celebrate this marvelous day is because Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I pray that she truly comes to understand this concept and know the Lord in the coming years!

Up next: Easter morning and at the Preston's!
