Mother's Day, Baby Dedication, and Seven Months - Oh My!

What a wonderful Mother's Day! Today was a day of celebrating - my two little blessings whom the Lord gave to me to be their mommy, Brax being seven months old, and the little man getting dedicated at church. What a marvelous day!

Braxton continues to move and shake at seven months old (as the below pic shows). He has expanded his menu this month to include green beans, apples, peas, and peaches to his menu. He still nurses exclusively and eats about 5 times a day - at about 3:30 a.m., 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. He usually eats a veggie/fruit at lunch with Mackie and then another veggie/fruit and grain at dinner time.

He also is getting really good at sitting up and then bending in half, only to fall on his tummy and get in the position to crawl. No crawling yet (thank goodness!) but it's in the not-so-distant future.

The little man also graduated from his bouncy seat and swing this month (sigh - the first of the "baby things" to go in our house!). He continues to love his Bumbo, Johnny Jump-Up, and exersaucer.

These last few weeks of sleep have been marvelous! He usually goes down around 7-7:30 p.m. and likes to wake up at midnight, but only because he's kicked off blankets or is searching for paci. After daddy consoles him for a few minutes, he crashes until 3:30-4 a.m. feeding and then dozes off again for a few hours before he wakes up between 6:30-7 a.m. for the day. He takes two naps - one in the morning (we limit to an hour!) and then another one when sister goes down for her nap (hello, productivity!) for anywhere between 1 hour, 45 minutes to 2 hours, 15 minutes.

Teeth are getting closer to their arrival, as everything is put in the mouth and shirts are usually a slobbering, snotty mess by morning nap. I'm not totally convinced that his ears are healed from his ear rupture and infection problems from earlier this spring, but we shall see when we do a ear check follow-up next week.

We're thinking he now weighs in over 21 pounds and is in 12 month clothes. The growth is starting to slow down a bit, though, as he starts to move around more and more.

Love you, little man! We pray that you love Jesus with all of your mind, heart, and soul and that you let your light shine for Him!
