Snow Pellets? Sure, Why Not!

Hello, spring! (maybe?!)

We welcomed spring this week with snow and bitter cold wind and temps. Lovely, eh?!

Yesterday's 18-miler even featured a great bitter wind heading north and east as well as nice snow/ice pellets for the last two hours. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not something I want to do again any time soon. Let's hope this is the last of the snow and bitter cold - bring on spring!

My hubs is on spring break this week, meaning: a more relaxed time running instead of being time-pressed all the time. We also have our favorite 10K race - the Easter Sun Run! This was our first "real" race when I became serious about my running and training about 8 years ago. It's a great event - well organized, wonderful volunteers, great cause, and Panera bagels are at the finish line! (you can't beat that). I'll most likely run a few extra miles after the 6.2 on Saturday. It helps that we'll be celebrating Easter afterward at brother- and sister-in-law's house, which happens to be across the street from the race course.

Here's onto another training week!

Monday: Run easy 60 minutes w/pick-ups
Tuesday: XT 40-45 min w/ ST
Wednesday: Tempo B run (Warm-up 5-10 min; 10 min hard w/ 2 min easy*2; Cool-down 5-10 min)
Thursday: XT 40-45 min w/ST
Friday: Run easy 30 minutes (pre-race, so taking it easy this day!)
Saturday: Easter Sun Run 10K (plus 2 more miles if I feel like it)
Sunday: OFF - Easter Sunday!

Have a blessed week as we remember why we celebrate the marvelous holiday of Easter. Thank you, God, for sending your precious Son to die on the cross for our sin!
